Lady Zen - The Soul Of Lady Zen. @ Incanto

This show is a snapshot of the present moment that we are living and reflects the mood of summer. Soul has always been a big part of my life. There is a steamy quality to soul music that is uniquely it’s own. There will be moments when I will present an old soul song with a new spin or read a beat poem or delivering a new song you love to hear sung from Carole King. Sitting on the Dock of the Bay; songs from Donnie Hathaway, Sade, Marvin Gaye, and Gil Scott Heron. The Night will be filled with Soul. I look forward to entertaining you. I got to meet and work with Gil Scott Heron in Baltimore for Poets in the Park. At that time I was a budding soul poet and working with Gil Scott gave me the confidence to continue my own compositions to become the Mother of Lyric Fusion Poetry. I have been working as a published author and entertainer for many years. Gospel, blues, and jazz inform my taste. A trained mezzo with a Fulbright in Vocal Performance, focusing on Opera. To Master of Fine Arts. I compose and arrange music for movies and special commissions but my real job is to be an incredible storyteller through music. Come check out the journey and see what folks have come to see for themselves.
