The Blue Knote Jazz Duet features band members Jorge Hernandez (The Zippers) on guitar and vocalist Chris Watters in the piano bar on Tuesdays at 7pm.
Hailing from Guadalajara, well-known guitarist Jorge Hernandez has played with one of the most popular bands in Vallarta over the years, The Zippers. He also has a great interest in jazz and decided in early 2018 to pursue that genre as well. He produced his own backing tracks, starting with the classic American standby, ‘My Way’, recruiting long-time friend and collaborator, vocalist Chris Watters to join him.
Chris Watters was born in Australia. His father, also Chris, is a popular guitar player and singer in his own right, playing in Northen Vallarta, Bucerias, and La Cruz. Over the years, he would bring his young son to gigs and they would listen to Frank Sinatra and other singers at home. Young Chris eventually became the singer of a very successful rock metal band, ‘After The Night Fall’, opening concerts for a variety of legendary rock bands including KISS and Alice Cooper. Back in Vallarta, he and old friend Jorge Hernandez teamed up to create the new group, the Blue Knote Jazz Duet, over the past several months. A fresh and unique sound that is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. See them on Tuesdays in the piano bar at 7pm.
